I began to really enjoy planning parties when my daughter turned one. My mantras were “Plan Ahead” and “Keep it Simple”…neither of which would be considered rocket science. But you know what? It worked. The party came out nicely and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I planned an outdoor fall party at a local park and farmstead, which guided the theme. I wanted it to be feminine for my little gal, so opted for simple country decorations rather than too much “farm”.
I ordered custom invitations from Hallmark, which allowed me to customize the message but still use their artistic talents. I found a gorgeous little invite called “Paper Flowers” which is unfortunately is no longer available. The invitations shipped THE NEXT DAY! and I was thrilled with the quality.
Dessert? A variety of cupcakes. Simple, elegant, and tasty. We served a pink lemonade punch. Favors were white gift bags of candy and toys, tied with a green gingham ribbon.
Decor was easy given our surroundings. I brought the flowers, they brought the farm!
